Source Field in Forms and Surveys in GoHighLevel

The Source Field in forms and surveys is an essential component for collecting details about how respondents found or accessed your form. Knowing the origin of your responses offers important insights into the success of your marketing initiatives, advertising campaigns, or overall outreach strategies.

Adding the source element

The element is located under Quick Add. Simply drag and drop the field into the form. On the right-hand side, you can input the value in the source field. We’ve set the value to “sample lead source.” This field will remain hidden and won’t be visible to users.

Use Case of this field

After the form submission, you can see the value under source as shown below.

This will also be shown under contacts as Contact Source.

Other use case of this field

You can also pass this field as a query parameter.

For Example: https://link.platform.form.com/widget/form/WKEnUOXEz9J3cpcQyc1M?source=alternative_source

You can pass any source by adding ?source=alternative_source in the form/survey link.

This action will replace the value set within the form builder, causing the submission to use the source as an alternate rather than a sample lead source.
