Notice 1: Shutdown of Unregistered 10DLC Messaging
Commencing from July 5, 2023, it is mandatory for all 10DLC phone numbers employed for sending SMS and MMS messages to U.S. numbers to be enrolled in an approved campaign associated with your brand. Failure to register may result in escalating message blocking, ultimately culminating in a complete halt of unregistered messages bound for the U.S. after August 31, 2023.
Per-message rates for unregistered traffic are on the rise with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Unregistered messages could face added filtering or even blocking. Details regarding fee hikes and timelines are available in the carrier fee section. Ensure uninterrupted service and dodge increased charges by registering your unregistered traffic through the LC Phone System Trust Center for A2P 10DLC.
Notice 3: Sole Proprietor A2P 10DLC Registration Now Available
The option for Sole Proprietor Brand registration is back, catering to those sending low-volume messages. If you’re an individual or a small business lacking a Tax ID (EIN), consult the FAQ for registration specifics. Tailor your messaging campaigns based on traffic needs, selecting between Low Volume Standard Brands (sending fewer than 6,000 messages daily) or Standard Brands (sending over 6,000 messages daily) for mixed messaging endeavors.
Notice 4: New Requirements for A2P 10DLC Registrations
Starting from January 26, 2023, a new vetting process will be implemented for A2P Campaign registrations, accompanied by a one-time campaign vetting fee. Stay informed about the A2P 10DLC Campaign Vetting Changes coming in January 2023.
In the United States, A2P 10DLC is a specialized system enabling businesses to transmit Application-to-Person (A2P) messages using standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone numbers. It’s tailored specifically for long code messaging within the US, distinct from shortcodes or Toll-Free numbers sent to the country.
A2P 10DLC Pricing Overview
A2P 10DLC entails two main fee categories: registration fees and carrier fees per message. These charges, integral to the A2P 10DLC system, are levied by carriers and seamlessly transferred to customers without any additional expenses.
Registration fees are applied when registering your US A2P Brand and your A2P Use Case, the moment they are approved.
Carrier fees are also charged by carriers for A2P 10DLC messages sent to users on their networks. These fees are applied in addition to standard US Messaging pricing. In general, the fees are applied for each outbound SMS segment or MMS message. T-Mobile (including Sprint) also applies fees to inbound SMS and MMS.
Please see below for a full breakdown of the fees associated with A2P 10DLC.
Registration Fees
When evaluating your choices, the Standard Brand registration allows for a maximum of 60,000 segments daily, whereas the Low Volume Standard Brand registration is restricted to 6,000 segments.
It’s worth noting that each segment corresponds to 160 characters for sms.
