How to Enable/Disable the Default Unsubscribe Link
HighLevel includes an unsubscribe link in all emails by default, but you can turn it off if you prefer to manually add your own link. To enable or disable the default link:
Step 1: Navigate to Subaccount Settings → Business Profile.
Step 2: Scroll down to the General Tab.
Step 3: Customize the Unsubscribe Link
You can personalize the unsubscribe experience by customizing the text or destination of the unsubscribe link. Toggle “Include Unsubscribe Link” ON. Please note that the content of this message will automatically be added to all emails.
IMPORTANT: If you turn off the default unsubscribe link, you must manually include the unsubscribe tag {{unsubscribe}} in each email to remain compliant.
How to Manually Add the Unsubscribe Link
You can manually insert an unsubscribe link using a built-in tag if you prefer full control over placement or format.
Open the LC Email Builder (either in conversations or campaign or email template under Marketing Tab). Place your cursor where you want the link to appear and type or paste: {{unsubscribe}}. OR you can also use our default custom value called UNSUBSCRIBE LINK under EMAIL.
Please Note: When the email is sent, the {{unsubscribe}} tag will be automatically converted into a clickable link that lets the contact opt out.
What Happens If You Use Both Default and Manual Unsubscribe Links?

HighLevel provides two ways to include an unsubscribe link in your emails:
The default unsubscribe link which is automatically added to the footer when enabled in your Business Profile settings.
