How to Set Up Automatic Tax Calculations on GoHighLevel Invoices

Manually calculating taxes on every invoice wastes time and introduces costly errors for agencies managing multiple clients in GoHighLevel. This guide walks you through enabling automatic tax calculations, configuring tax categories, and using the new Add Tax modal to apply taxes across all invoice products.

What’s New? 

Automatic tax calculations will apply when all products meet the following criteria:

  • Tax category attached to it or default tax category is configured in payment settings
  • Valid US state present for invoice contact
  • Valid postal code present for invoice contact

When automatic taxes are set up for recurring invoices, they will automatically apply to every generated invoice.

Additionally, we’re introducing a new ‘Add Tax’ modal, allowing you to seamlessly apply automatic or manual taxes at the invoice level—ensuring taxes are applied to all products within an invoice.

How to Use it 

  • Go to Payments -> Settings – > Taxes
  • Enable Automatic Taxes -> Enter in all the details required
  • Enable automatic taxes on Invoices while creating it
